Waxman & Markey Named Comrades of the Month

According to an article on The Club for Growth Website (http://www.clubforgrowth.org/2009/06/waxman_and_markey_receive_comr.php)

Reps. Henry Waxman of California and Ed Markey of Massachusetts are working on a bill that would raise gasoline costs further, earning them the Club for Growth's fifth Comrade of the Month award.

The Bill would limit how much gasoline Americans can use by capping fossil fuel emissions and imposing a massive new energy tax.

The Bill is HR:2454 and can be found at Open Congress.org,

A Heritage Foundation analysis of Waxman-Markey found devastating economic impacts. Specifically, the analysis projects that by 2035 the bill would:
Reduce aggregate GDP by $9.6 trillion; Reduce employment by 1,105,000 jobs per year, on average. In some years, it would reduce employment by over 2,479,000 jobs; Raise electricity rates 90 percent after adjusting for inflation; Raise inflation-adjusted gasoline prices by 74 percent; Raise residential natural gas prices by 55 percent; Raise an average family's annual energy bill by $1,500; Drive up the national debt 26 percent.

Call your Congressman and make your thoughts known on this issue of "Cap and Trade" control of your LIFE!
